Normally, breast tissue does not develop in men, and there is no noticeable prominence behind the areola and nipple. However, if hormonal balance is disrupted for a period of time, this tissue can grow and increase in volume, creating a feminine appearance in the breast area. In certain age periods—such as during puberty—this change may occur mildly and temporarily as part of a natural process and usually does not require specific intervention.
However, if the condition is caused by the use of certain medications or supplements, the best treatment is to adjust the medication or eliminate the underlying cause.
Diagnostic evaluations should always be performed to rule out causes such as hormonal disorders or cancers in other organs. In cases where no underlying cause is found, or if breast enlargement persists despite addressing the cause, corrective surgery can be performed to remove the excess breast tissue and achieve proper breast contouring.
